Item Prep
Step One: Get Your Items Ready
Make your items shine (the better they look, the faster they sell!)
Start Here:
Check our Accepted Items & Brand List before you begin
Wash, steam, and de-lint clothing—fresh + wrinkle-free = higher sales
Inspect everything carefully (no stains, holes, missing buttons, fading, etc.)
If it’s not something you’d be excited to buy, it doesn’t belong at Savvy
Consignor Guidelines:
Minimum: 15 items
Maximum: 200 items per seller
Rockstar Sellers (65%+ sell-through) may request up to 250 items
Not sure what to let go of? Ask yourself:
Have I worn this in the last 6–12 months?
Do I love it—and would I wear it today?
Does it fit me and my current style?
Do I have something to wear it with?
If it’s not a “yes” across the board… it’s time to pass it on.
Step Two: A little prep goes a long way— having the right tools makes this process easy and organized
You’ll need:
Hangers: WHITE plastic or velvet hangers preferred (different from our kids events). Wire hangers will be accepted.
Safety Pins: Attach tags through a seam or garment tag
Never pin through front of fabric
If no tag: attach at the right armpit seam
Do not pin items to hangers
Tagging Gun (recommended, not required)
Clothespins: For wide neck tops, skirts, shorts, leggings
Cardstock: White, 65 lb. or heavier
Packing Tape: For shoes
Colored Tape: Fun colors help identify your items
Hole Punch
Ribbon or Twine: For securing shoes
Colored Ribbon: For designer denim
Small Zip Ties
Painter’s Tape: For home décor tagging
Pricing Guide: Use as a reference when pricing
Tip: Tagging guns are under $15 online and are the best way to protect your items.
Step Three: Hang Items Properly
Important:
DO NOT safety pin clothing to hangers
Hanger Direction:
All hangers should face the same way
When facing the item, the hook should form a question mark (?)
Clothing Guidelines:
Sets: Secure together with safety pins or zip ties
Jeans/Pants: Fold in half over hanger (tag visible)
Shorts: Fold over hanger, secure if needed
Wide neck tops/dresses/kimonos: Secure with clothespins
Accessories & Shoes:
Belts, purses, hats: No hangers needed
Shoes: Tie together with ribbon/twine (leave ~5" slack)
Step Four: Enter & Print Tags
Click “Returning Consignor Login” at the top of the page
